About the Role:

Reporting to the Product Manager, the Technical Product Owner will be responsible for the geospatial SaaS product.

You’ll work with the Product Manager to refine the roadmap for the product. You’ll work closely with UX to understand the customer & fascilitate design workshops. You’ll mentor & coach the development team, working collaboratively to define, prioritise and accept work.

In this autonomous role, you’ll take ownership of the product, work on growth strategy and work to increase value proposition, market share and look at joint value propositions with other products.

Role Responsibilities:

· Serve as the customer proxy within the development team

· Work with Product Management to define the product vision and strategy by understanding the commercial and strategic objectives of the broader business

· Work with UX, UI, and Product Management to understand user needs and journeys, and how to meet needs within the product

· Identify, define, and advocate for technical features and improvements to the product

· Work with stakeholders across the business to prioritise features and maintain the product roadmap

· Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.

· Be the custodian of product quality by accepting work to the definition of done

· Make technical decisions and collaborate with developers on technical requirements and solution design

· Maintain the application’s solution diagrams

· Promote adherence to high quality coding practices and test driven design activities

· Coach developers on developing technical knowledge

· Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the teams, ensuring there is buy-in and clear communication.

· Promote the adherence to Agile practices including continuous improvement

Your Skills & Experience:

· Previous working experience as a Product Owner

· Technical expertise (having worked as a developer, or achieved a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or similar)

· PHP and GIS familiarity highly advantageous

· In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles (preferably Lean-Agile)

· Previous project management experience is advantageous.

· Strong technical acumen to understand and speak to technical implications for experience designs

· Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases

· Experience within a SaaS environment highly desirable

· Experience in using metrics and user feedback to improve products and services

· A great listener, able to communicate clearly and motivate others to perform at a high standard

· Committed to mentoring team members and aiding their professional development
