HR Generalist – Permanent Part-Time

Salt Search has partnered with a fast-growing fashion retail business with a loyal customer base in Australia and a strong international presence. They are a sustainably led organisation using eco-friendly materials and ethical production practices.

You’ll be working closely with their leadership team part-time to shape HR practices, supporting a small but expanding Australian team, and helping nurture a positive, values-driven culture across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Manage employment contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian legislation
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to create a seamless employee experience
• Handle leave requests and act as the first point of contact for HR and payroll queries
• Support recruitment activities, including job postings, application screening, and interview coordination
• Coordinate workplace health & safety initiatives and communications
• Support culture and engagement initiatives that foster connection and well-being

What you’ll bring

• Based in Australia, with a strong knowledge of local employment law and workplace relations
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a generalist or specialist HR role
• Proven track record across the employee lifecycle, including contracts, compliance, and policies
• Experience supporting small, growing teams or startups (preferred)
• Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems (a plus)
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset
• Comfortable working independently and remotely across different time zones
