Regulatory/Information Officer

HR & Business Operations

We are looking for Enforcement Officers with extensive experience in regulatory and compliance activity with a demonstrated ability to use effective well-developed interpersonal skills to manage difficult interactions, resolve conflict, and de-escalate situations. You will be required to frequently travel to locations throughout NSW, and your responsibilities include:

  • Conduct proactive compliance inspections of retailers and areas in accordance with the regulatory priorities.
  • Provide information and education to retailers about compliance requirements with the legislation.
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives associated with the development, implementation, and continual improvement of a strategic, risk-based approach to compliance programs.
  • Review, assess and follow up reports of non-compliance regarding alleged breaches of the relevant legislation Prepare briefs and attend court, when required.
  • Compliance monitoring and issuing Penalty Notices and cautions to members of the public allegedly in breach of the provisions of the relevant legislation.
  • Collection, collation, and analysis of data relating to compliance monitoring and enforcement activity.

To be considered for the role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to use effective well-developed interpersonal skills to manage difficult interactions, resolve conflict and de-escalate situations.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proven capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capacity and willingness, including current NSW driver’s license, to travel to locations throughout NSW, which may include overnight stay in regional / remote areas.
