State Manager

Our client is a premier landscaping company in South Australia, renowned for crafting exceptional outdoor environments. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced State Manager to lead our South Australian operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive business growth, manage a dedicated team, and deliver outstanding landscaping solutions across the state.

Role Overview: You will oversee and drive the company’s operations in South Australia, focusing on achieving revenue and financial targets, expanding the client base, and enhancing service offerings. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage projects, foster key relationships, and ensure compliance with safety and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Revenue and Financial Management: In collaboration with the CEO, set and achieve revenue goals and financial targets for the South Australian landscaping business. Negotiate contracts and manage them throughout the project lifecycle.
• Business Expansion: Build the revenue base to $6 million annually by growing operations across South Australia. Actively seek new client opportunities and explore new service offerings to enhance existing client relationships.
• Customer Acquisition: Meet or exceed targets for acquiring new customers and generating value from these relationships.
• Strategic Leadership: Implement annual strategic objectives and action plans effectively. Maintain visibility within the business and landscaping market.
• Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with other State Managers and business units (Mulch, Services, and Nursery) to develop integrated customer solutions and identify new opportunities.
• Board Reporting: Provide timely and accurate monthly reports to the Board on the performance of the South Australian business unit.
• Safety Performance: Achieve high safety standards with low risk outcomes, upholding and promoting company and industry safety regulations.
• Market Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers and suppliers. Drive business development in key sectors such as infrastructure, land development, and local government.
• Team Leadership: Deliver growth and positive financial results, secure a steady pipeline of work, and attract and retain high-quality staff. Foster professional relationships within the team and broader industry.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a managerial role within the landscaping or related industry.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing teams and driving business growth.
• Excellent negotiation, project management, and financial oversight abilities.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to business development and client relationship management.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and company values.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across various business units and regions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining strategic relationships.

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualifications in landscaping, horticulture, business management, or a related field.
• Experience in managing budgets, financial reporting, and achieving revenue targets.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within South Australia as required.
• Civil Engineer qualification required!
