Category Manager

Our client is a global FMCG business and household name worldwide. We are seeking a Category Manager in the confectionery space who will work across some much loved brands.

• 3 month initial contract with high likelihood of extension.

• Ensure market-leading products have a prime position on shelves across Australia.

What will you be doing?

• Identify priority channels for the category and develop tailored channel category plans.
• Identify the ideal product assortment, placement, pricing and promotional strategies based on a clear understanding of shopper behaviour.
• Implement point of purchase recommendations through the customer category review process.
• Drive the annual commercial activity and ensure plan is aligned to the market business strategy and delivers on identified channel, category and customer opportunities.
• Recommend annual targets and monitor the success of the annual commercial activity plan through the monthly business planning process.
• Recommend & coordinate responses to customer and competitive activity & threats
• Establish clear promotional guidelines by category and channel, and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our trade investments.
• Provide objectives, sales execution targets and high-level forecasts for all new product development and key commercial activity.

What will you bring?

• 2+ years commercial experience in a similar role ideally from a FMCG business.
• Strong market and strategic sales experience.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Nielsen and/or Circana scan/panel experience essential.
