Salary: Up to $120,000

Location: Melbourne, Inner Suburbs (Hybrid – 3 days in-office, WFH Mondays & Fridays)

A highly awarded global marketing agency, known for delivering outstanding work across the retail sector, is on the lookout for a Senior SEO Manager to drive performance and establish a high-performing SEO function. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership, shape strategy, and build a team around you.

The Role

As the SEO Manager, you’ll lead SEO strategy and execution across a diverse client portfolio. You’ll be responsible for driving performance, developing scalable processes, and mentoring a team of specialists. You’ll also play a key client-facing role, providing expert insights and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and optimise SEO performance across a range of client accounts
• Develop and implement SEO strategies including technical SEO, content, on-page, and off-page optimisation
• Build and lead a growing SEO team – from recruitment to performance management
• Act as the primary contact for key clients, presenting insights, results, and recommendations
• Track SEO KPIs and revenue goals, identifying ongoing growth opportunities
• Collaborate with SEM, CRO, and dev teams to deliver cohesive, integrated solutions
• Stay ahead of the curve with the latest SEO trends, tools, and best practices

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years’ SEO experience, ideally within an agency environment
• Proven expertise across technical SEO, keyword strategy, and link building
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and motivating teams
• Deep understanding of technical SEO (e.g., Core Web Vitals, structured data, page speed)
• Skilled in GA4, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Looker Studio
• Confident communicator, able to present to clients and stakeholders at all levels
• Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS as they relate to SEO
• Bonus points for experience with AI-based tools and SEO automation
