General Manager – Sales Engineer

Our client, a reputable Italian company specializing in high-quality designs and manufacturing of heavy industrial parts for tractors, trailers, and vehicles in the agricultural, construction, rail, and heavy industries, is expanding its operations in Sydney. We are seeking a dynamic leader to head our small Sales branch, drive P&L, and maximize revenue growth for the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute growth strategies while managing ongoing customer accounts.
  • Create and manage annual budgets.
  • Coach and mentor a small sales team.
  • Oversee all operations, including Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, HR, and WHS/EHS functions.
  • Coordinate purchases and sales to meet annual targets.
  • Identify growth opportunities in collaboration with the Bids & Growth Solutions Team.
  • Foster cross-business collaboration and excellence in service delivery.
  • Build long-term relationships through networking and presentations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Sales Engineer or Business Development Manager.
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant experience is desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Self-starter with accountability for all business aspects.
  • Excellent business acumen with the ability to execute strategies effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills to manage a small branch remotely.
  • Results-oriented, able to prioritize under pressure.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and committed to attracting diverse talent.
