Cloud Engineer

Our Global Client is seeking an experienced System / Cloud Engineer with expertise in VMware Virtualisation and good experience with SDN data centres to join their high performing technical team.

With your proven experience working across enterprise environments, you will be motivated to implement your skills across a range of IT systems with a heavy focus on designing VMware, Virtual Desktop environments and Data Centres.

Responsibilities:

• Automate regular infrastructure operations in private cloud environment (VMware)
• Design, deploy, maintain, automate & troubleshoot virtual/physical servers and storage systems (SDN’s, Firewalls and load balancers)
• Develop and execute project plans for virtualization-related initiatives
• Rapidly learn, evaluate and explain emerging security technologies
• Create and manage tools for automation; including REST API integration script development
• Create user environments utilising your abilities in coding, scripting, GPO and DEM
• Capabilities providing upgrades of Horizon and vSphere Infrastructure

Skills and requirements:

• VMware Certification preferred (Horizon and SDDC product suite)
• Experience designing, building and maintaining private cloud infrastructure
• Work in sophisticated environments and providing solutions across VMware horizon and SDDC product suite
• Microsoft Certification (MCSA/SE), NSX, Checkpoint or Cisco Certifications highly regarded
• Backup systems and solutions
• Ability to work cross-functionally with different technical teams in cloud, infrastructure, support and organisational teams
• Contribute to tasks within the End User Computing team where necessary
