Head of Equities Trading Technology

Our client – one of the world’s leading securities exchanges is looking for The Head of Equities Trading Technology to oversee the strategy, development, and operation of the technology platform supporting equities trading.

As a Head of Equities will lead the technical innovation and execution to support the performance and growth of our client’s equities markets. You will be responsible for ensuring equities trading systems are secure, low-latency, and resilient.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced technology solutions for equities trading, with an emphasis on reliability, speed, and scalability;
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, market participants, and regulatory bodies to gather requirements and deliver technology solutions tailored for equities trading;
• Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of equities trading infrastructure, ensuring high availability and regulatory compliance;
• Manage a high-performing team of technology specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence;
• Develop and oversee the technology budget for equities trading platforms, ensuring efficient resource use and alignment with strategic goals.

Requirements:

• 15+ years of experience in financial markets technology, with a focus on equities trading platforms at an exchange or trading venue;
• Proven leadership experience in managing low-latency, mission-critical technology platforms in a regulated environment;
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• In-depth knowledge of equities markets, high-frequency trading, and algorithmic execution technologies;
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex technology initiatives
