Head of Generative AI Execution

Our client, a leading financial services business, is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Generative AI Execution Leader to spearhead the build, adoption and execution of Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies across specific business functions.

This role will combine technical architecture expertise with product strategy. The post holder will be accountable for driving the identification, evaluation, and implementation of high value AI use cases. The ability to balance deep technical expertise and business acumen while ensuring rigorous adherence to regulatory and ethical standards is essential for this business-critical hire.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Own the end-to-end GenAI strategy and roadmap. Partner with business units to identify, prioritise, and drive the execution of high-value AI use cases with clear ROI frameworks.
• Technical Expertise: Build high-performance AI infrastructure, for LLM evaluation and fine-tuning. Design and implement ML Operations (MLOps) frameworks and platforms at enterprise scale. Design cloud-based AI architectures on Azure, AWS, or similar platforms.
• Architecture & Infrastructure: Collaborate closely with the Data Platform team to design and implement a secure, compliant, and highly scalable AI infrastructure. Establish a GenAI architecture competency within the Group framework.
• Governance & Stakeholder Management: Present strategic technology assessments and to senior executives. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts, manage product risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and influence stakeholders across organisational boundaries to foster necessary partnerships.

Essential Capabilities

• Deep expertise in building high-performance AI infrastructure for LLM evaluation and fine tuning.
• Proven track record designing and implementing robust MLOps frameworks and platforms at enterprise scale.
• Experience in designing cloud-based AI architectures on platforms like Azure or AWS.
• Strong understanding of current GenAI capabilities and emerging AI technologies.

Business Acumen

• Ability to create and convey a compelling vision to key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance innovation with practical implementation and strong market analysis capabilities.
• A test and learn mindset and a proven track record of evidence-based decision-making.

Prior Experience

• Significant technical experience in complex project, program, portfolio, or delivery management roles.
• Previous experience in roles specifically focused on high-impact AI/ML implementations.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing AI platforms or large-scale data transformation initiatives.
• Proven track record of successful enterprise technology delivery at scale within highly regulated industries, ideally in banking and financial services.
