Informix Database Administrator

My client is looking for a specialist Database Administrator that has vast experience & knowledge around Informix databases.

* SME across databases and Informix.
* Provide design solutions and support for Cloud hosted Database Management.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

* Extensive experience as a Database administrator
* Expert Informix knowledge and experience of database tools, utilities, backup and recovery processes
* Expert in Informix highly available database cluster environments (Informix replication ER, HDR, RSS, and SDS experience)
* Expert Informix & SQL tuning and debugging skills.
* Expert Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (UNIX Shell, Stored Procedures)
* Good understanding Linux Operating System
* Good understanding of SQL Server, MySQL, Redshift
* Exposure to cloud services (ideally AWS)
* Service Level Agreements – Ensure that service delivery and operational system availability SLA’s are met.
* Strong communication skills, able to liaise with all stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
* Specialist skills in all aspects of Database Administration (Informix, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift)
* Experience with CICD automated deployment, managing and monitoring AWS services: EC2, EBS, ELB, Route53, Cloudformation, S3, Cloudwatch, Autoscaling, VPC and RDS.
* Excellent troubleshooting, analytical skills, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive.

To be successful, you must be someone who has already worked across Informix in the last 5 years and has a solid grasp of the concepts and knowledge of the database. I am seeking someone who is looking to grow with the organisation and further develop their skills in a complex and challenging environment.
