Infrastructure & Network Architect

New opportunity for an IT Infrastructure & Network Architect to join a leading energy regulator committed to ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable energy services across Australia.

This position will delivery across a Program involving a large-scale system changes to meet regulatory and operational standards.

The project involves a comprehensive transformation of the existing core platform, focusing on migrating corporate systems and ensuring compliance with significant reform requirements.

This reflects a key component of the initiative is the program, which aims to enhance the organization’s technology infrastructure. The program includes introducing new products, building a new IT environment, and moving operations into a private cloud to improve security and resilience. This transformation is designed to future-proof the organization and support long-term business objectives.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must hold Australian Citizenship, and be able to get ASGVA security clearance.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Develop architecture documents (Conceptual & Solution) focusing on Infrastructure & Network Architecture.
• Contribute to standards, principles, patterns, and frameworks.
• Participate in governance and working group forums to endorse solutions and standards.
• Provide input to business cases and proposals.
• Maintain architecture updates in the Enterprise Repository.
• Support projects in identifying and managing risks, and assist with migration and implementation of services.
• Provides architectural governance to design, build, and operate phase.

Key Experience and Knowledge:

• Extensive experience delivering Conceptual and Solution Architecture documents.
• Skilled in infrastructure architecture for complex IT environments, especially OT/SCADA systems.
• Expertise in secure data center deployments (PSZ4, IRAP-certified) and migrations.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization (VMware VCF, Kubernetes), storage (Pure Storage), and network technologies (Palo Alto, NSX-T, F5).
• Proficient in automation tools (Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform) and logging/monitoring technologies (Splunk, SIEM).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Education and certifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• IT architecture qualifications or certifications (TOGAF, SABSA preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Vendor certifications (e.g., VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, Azure) are highly valued.
