New opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Solution Architect to join a leading energy regulator committed to ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable energy services across Australia.

Overview of the opportunity:

The Infrastructure Architect will support the project teams across architectural design, analysis, and governance towards delivering successful implementation of fit-for-purpose and strategically aligned solutions, working towards transformational change across the business.

The ideal candidate for this position will have technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies, including applications, cloud, security, integration and network services.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Design various architectural layers (Conceptual and Solution Architecture Documents) for targeted programs, with an emphasis on Infrastructure Architecture.
  • Engage in architecture governance and working group meetings to gain approval for solutions, standards, and design patterns.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and request for proposals.
  • Update and maintain the Enterprise Repository with architecture revisions.
  • Assist projects by identifying and managing risks and issues early in the process.
  • Support the planning, implementation, and migration of applications and infrastructure services.
  • Oversee architectural governance throughout the design, construction, and operational phases.
  • Provide direction to technical teams to ensure detailed designs adhere to the target architecture, standards, and patterns.

Essential Skills Experience:

  • Experience completing and delivering Conceptual and Solution Architecture documents.
  • Demonstrable experience developing infrastructure architecture in large, complex, and critical IT environments.
  • Demonstrable experience with on-premise and public cloud (Azure mandatory) infrastructure design, from initial concept to implementation.
  • Demonstrable experience designing solutions for integration technologies such as ESB, API Management, API Query / Inquiry Service, Websocket, Message Queue, Data Store, Logging, Archiving and Gateway software.
  • Sound understanding of virtualisation technologies such as VMware, and Kubernetes containerisation.
  • Knowledge and or experience with network technologies, such as Palo Alto firewalls, Load Balancers / Ingress Controllers such as F5, AVI, NGINX, and routing.
  • Ability to present and communicate both business and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong influencing skills with business and technical groups with ability to build networks across multiple stake holder groups.
  • Demonstrated technology skills across multiple IT domains (application, security, infrastructure, and networks).

Education & certifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • IT Architecture certification such as TOGAF and SABSA.
  • Microsoft Azure certification.
