New opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Manager to lead a legacy modernization program. We are looking for a skilled professional with extensive technology knowledge, strong business acumen, and exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.

We are looking for an experience IT Manager with expertise in Windows Technologies (Azure AD & AD), Nutanix and VMware, Networking, Databases (MSSQL & Oracle RDBMS + Exadata), Backup systems, Citrix Xenapp, and VDI Technology.

This role reports directly to the CIO and involves overseeing the company’s infrastructure management, which includes two data centers, a rapidly expanding Cloud environment, 90 locations across Australia, and more than 3500 Citrix end-points.

About the Opportunity:

· Responsible for managing a budget of $12M (P&L responsibility) and leading a primarily in-house team comprising Unix and Wintel administrators, dbas, EUC engineers, and network technicians (SDWAN).

· Play a key role in transitioning enterprise workloads from legacy on-premise systems to modern cloud architectures.

· Implementing and maintaining standards and operating procedures, with a strong emphasis on change control, in a resilient 24×7 business environment.

· Oversee significant multi-million dollar vendor contracts and take charge of Disaster Recovery practices and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience:

Passionate about introducing innovation to an existing legacy stack. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience managing enterprise infrastructure environments, encompassing both on-premise and cloud systems.

· Hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

· demonstrate a keen interest in learning about the rail industry and tackling its challenges through innovative technology solutions.

· Excellent communication skills, essential for effectively working with stakeholders, team members, customers, and fostering productive collaboration.

· Experience in developing and executing strategic roadmaps for infrastructure, with analytical and problem-solving capabilities to tackle complex technical issues.

· Experience working in Agile and Scrum project management methodologies, with a sound grasp of ITIL framework and IT service management principles, and leadership skills.

· Comprehensive understanding of IT budgets and system lifecycle costs, along with the capability to build persuasive business cases.
