Software Engineer

Salt have partnered with an iconic Australian telecommunications company that is on the lookout for a Software Engineer to join their team!

They have a global presence and in this role you’d get to work in a team dedicated to one of their core accounts in their portfolio.

*** Please note, all applicants must be Australian citizens and hold NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance to be considered for this position. This position can be based out of either Canberra or Sydney ***

What you’ll bring?

• Proven track record of developing software solutions on Unix/Linux platforms
• Experience working with either Ruby or Python as programming languages
• Understanding of object-oriented design and analysis
• Front-end development experience with the likes of React JS
• Knowledge of MVC architectural patterns for web-based applications
• Experience with relational database systems like PostgreSQL or My SQL
• Experience enhancing SQL queries
• Experience utilising Git and CI/CD pipeline tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Genuine passion for software engineering and a strong willingness to learn and improve
• Ability to contribute to team discussions and produce code with a focus on quality and security

What you’ll be doing?

• Writing clean, scalable and maintainable code to optimise systems
• Providing test-driven solutions with a focus on quality
• Contributing to group discussions, providing documentation and engaging in other best software engineering practices
• Executing work assignments and being nimble enough to work on a variety of projects at the one time
• Continuing to develop your professional software engineering skills and engaging in learning and development
• Developing solutions with the customer always top of mind
