Solutions Architect & Engineer – MS Exchange

We are seeking an experienced Exchange Solutions Architect & Engineer to lead the discovery, planning, and early-stage migration of our on-premises Exchange services to M365 and ProofPoint, paving the way for full decommissioning in 2026.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Exchange specialist who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to communicate effectively, self-manage, and drive results in a complex enterprise environment.

THE ROLE:

• Lead the discovery and analysis of on-prem Exchange infrastructure, including mail relay, mailboxes (user & shared), and other resources/services.
• Design a comprehensive Exchange Migration Strategy and deliver solution architecture aligned to business requirements.
• Conduct workshops with stakeholders to validate migration design and plan.
• Develop and execute a detailed migration plan, covering quick wins, SMTP relay cutover to ProofPoint, mailbox migrations, and other resources.
• Write and execute PowerShell scripts to automate migration processes.
• Oversee and support data cleansing activities prior to migration.
• Commence infrastructure, systems SMTP, and mailbox migrations in alignment with the migration plan.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Extensive experience in design and engineering with Exchange and messaging technologies.
• Strong on-prem Exchange expertise with recent, hands-on migration experience to M365 Exchange.
• Proven experience with ProofPoint mail hygiene and mail relay solutions.
• Solid understanding of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
• Advanced PowerShell scripting
• Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
• Highly organised and able to work autonomously to deliver on agreed outcomes.
