Head of Growth & Strategy – Digital Marketing Agency (Toronto-based)

They specialize in using machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to help clients and agencies worldwide elevate their digital marketing performance. Their proprietary SaaS platform provides algorithm-powered automation tools, advanced reporting, and analytics to drive smarter online advertising and maximize ROI. The Role
My client is looking for a dynamic Head of Growth & Strategy to lead their digital marketing agency and sales operations across North America, based out of Toronto.
This is a unique position combining high-level strategic leadership with hands-on business development. You’ll oversee the growth of the agency arm in Toronto, working closely with both sales and agency teams to drive revenue through upselling, cross-selling, and expanding client portfolios. The right candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, digital marketing expertise, and a passion for scaling business while developing talent.

Key Responsibilities
* Set the strategic direction and growth targets for the Toronto agency while aligning with the global vision.
* Manage, mentor, and grow the sales team, ensuring clear goals, performance tracking, and ongoing development.
* Drive new business development: identify opportunities, build relationships, and expand revenue through upselling and cross-selling.
* Partner with account managers to deliver excellent client service and uncover opportunities to broaden offerings.
* Oversee the full sales cycle, from lead generation through to closing and growing client accounts.
* Act as the North American face of the business – representing the company at events, partnerships, and networking opportunities.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and finance teams to localize strategies and maximize North American impact.
What We’re Looking For
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
* 7+ years’ experience in business development, growth, or account strategy within a digital marketing agency or B2B tech setting.
* Demonstrated success in a leadership or strategic sales role, with direct team or regional responsibility.
* Strong expertise in digital marketing services (SEM, social, performance marketing, etc.).
* Proven client-facing skills: pitching, upselling, and building long-term partnerships.
* A self-starter who balances strategic vision with hands-on execution.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Previous experience working with or in international teams is a plus.
