My client is a leading regulator in the Middle East. They are looking for a Manager to support their License and Supervision in the region.
Manage the licensing application process, including collecting, reviewing and evaluating license applications, conducting enhanced due diligence, and making licensing recommendations.
Assess including but not limited to: company ownership structure, board requirements, senior management, corporate governance, fit and proper requirements, capital and prudential requirements, marketing, client agreements, complaints handling, public disclosures, virtual asset standards, confidential information, compliance management, risk management, operation management, financial audit, internal audit, AML-CFT, KYC-CDD,, anti-bribery and corruption, market transparency, technology governance, information security, data protection, etc.
Conduct Licensing Risk Assessment against critical risks, including but not limited to: financial soundness, market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, relationship with regulators, business strategy, client onboarding risk, organisation risk, regulation risk, operational risk, quality of management and corporate governance, AML, market abuse, and fraud, outsourcing and counterparty risk, risk management systems, compliance function and arrangements, contagion risk, products and clients suitability, communication with clients and financial promotions, legal risk, disclosure and reporting, cybersecurity & data privacy risk, cryptographic risk, business continuity, client assets, digital and emerging technology and, ESG risk.
Support in the development and execution of risk-based supervisory plans, including onsite inspections
Act as the main point of contact for each Compliance Officer on all regulatory matters.
Manage a small team of case officers to assess license applications and supervise licensed firms.
Provide review and quality assurance over the output of the licensing and supervision team members. ·
Support in the planning of resource and capacity management.
