Position Overview:
Looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that their clients comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies in the iGaming industry. The Compliance Officer will actively support clients by creating and maintaining compliance frameworks, assisting in audits, and monitoring regulatory changes to safeguard business operations and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements, including gaming licenses, anti-money laundering (AML), data protection (GDPR), and responsible gaming laws.
- Policy Development & Implementation:
Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures. Ensure that all client-facing teams adhere to these policies.
- Client Consultancy & Support:
Provide expert advice to clients in the iGaming space regarding their compliance obligations, helping them navigate regulatory landscapes and understand risks associated with non-compliance.
- Audit and Reporting:
Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to ensure compliance across all aspects of iGaming operations. Prepare and deliver compliance reports to management and clients, highlighting gaps, risks, and recommended improvements.
- Training & Education:
Design and deliver training programs for clients and internal teams to increase awareness of compliance obligations, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Regulatory Changes Monitoring:
Stay up-to-date on regulatory changes affecting the iGaming industry, ensuring that clients are informed about new or amended rules. Advise clients on how to adapt to regulatory changes.
- Risk Management:
Identify potential compliance risks and assist in the creation of mitigation strategies to address these risks. Proactively address compliance issues before they become regulatory violations.
- Incident Management:
Investigate any potential compliance breaches or irregularities. Lead the corrective action process and liaise with regulators when required to address violations or concerns.
- Licensing & Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory filings and licensing applications on behalf of clients. Ensure that clients remain compliant with all regulatory reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Compliance Officer, Risk Manager, or in a similar role within the iGaming, online gaming, or financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of global iGaming regulations, including AML, KYC, data protection (GDPR), and responsible gaming laws.
- Familiarity with iGaming licensing jurisdictions (e.g., UK Gambling Commission, Malta Gaming Authority, Curacao) and associated requirements.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply complex legal and regulatory requirements to business practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to advise and train clients and internal teams on compliance and regulatory matters.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), or Risk Management (e.g., CAMS, CFE, or similar).
- Knowledge of the latest industry technologies and tools for compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Experience in working with iGaming platforms and understanding operational risks.
- Fluency in multiple languages (e.g., English, Spanish, German) is a plus.
