Manager Data Science

My client is one of the largest Mining & Metals companies globally.

The Manager of Data Science / Principal data scientist leads a team of DS and projects applying strong expertise in artificial intelligence through use of machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval to design, prototype and build next generation advanced analytics engines and services.

Responsibilities:

• Play a pivotal role in contributing and execution of the wider DS and AI strategy.
• SME, leader who will be hands on with technical solutions, driving value and managing the data science team.
• Effectively communicate the analytics approach and how it will meet and address objectives to business partners.
• Lead analytic approaches, integrating work into applications and tools with data engineers, business leads, analysts and developers.
• Expert in Developing data science capability and can advocate the importance of continuous learning to the data science team.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years’ of relevant experience in a statistical and data science role
• Leading a team of data scientists and the go to SME for all things Data science.
• Working in a broader data team and cross functional collaboration with Data engineering, architecture and ML Ops.
• Should have Domain expertise and knowledge in Metal & Mining or Energy or a combination of both industries.
