Senior Engineer, Cloud Services (AWS, Terraform, Linux)

Position Overview:

Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for cloud infrastructure and a desire to work on cutting-edge projects? Our global client is looking to hire a Senior Engineer, Cloud Services, and play a pivotal role in supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of our global public cloud infrastructure.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining resilient cloud environments, utilizing cloud-native capabilities such as auto-scaling and automation.

Your expertise will help scale the shared service public cloud infrastructure and ensure it meets the highest standards of security, availability, and reliability.

Benefits:

Base Salary: 20k to 27k

AL: 20 days

EP: 16%

Medical: Extended to immediate family members

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the design, development, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, network, and layout.
• Build and maintain public cloud platform infrastructure as code services.
• Ensure public cloud infrastructure complies with non-functional requirements including security, availability, and reliability.
• Execute DevOps standards and best practices across the company’s infrastructure.
• Stay up-to-date with cloud engineering trends and technology advancements.
• Monitor and improve cloud system uptime, performance, high availability, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Provide regular status, operational, incident, and change reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience.

Experience:

Required

• 8+ years of experience in IT-related roles.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with application deployment, setup, and configuration on public cloud services.
• Advanced engineering knowledge of Public Cloud Services, including Monitoring, Access, Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, Configuration, and Database services.
• Experience designing, developing, deploying, and testing public cloud architecture.
• Ability to research, design, analyze, and modify Cloud-based Enterprise-wide systems and application software.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL data stores.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Some background in Information Security and compliance controls.
• Some experience in agile methodologies.

Preferred

• Cloud Architecture or SysOps Associate or Professional certifications.
• Certification as an Information Security Professional (CISSP).
• Knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Experience in application development for cloud platforms using technologies like Grails, Angular frameworks, Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring, Micro Services, REST, NodeJS, and others.
• Knowledge and experience in infrastructure for cloud platforms using technologies like Terraform, Cloud Formation, NFS, SAN, Docker, Consul, Vault, Docker Orchestration tools, and CI/CD (Jenkins, Spinnaker).
• Experience in using build and deployment tools like Maven, Gradle, Shell Scripts, PowerShell, etc.
• Experience with programming and infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, AWSCLI, Ansible, Python, Shell, Java, and JSON).
