APAC Statutory Compliance Accountant

Salt is hiring an ‘APAC Statutory Compliance Accountant’ in Singapore wherein the ideal candidate will be able to work well with cross-functional teams and provide accounting guidance for decision-making. This role reports to the International Accounting Manager in Singapore and ensures all the financial statements are recognised in accordance with accounting standards and assists in statutory compliance across APAC, including audit and taxation.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for achieving timely and accurate statutory financial statements compliance for an assigned portfolio of APAC entities
• Build relationships and manage service levels with key external vendors supporting the preparation of financial statements and review the work of our outsourced partners
• Coordinate and manage the audit process with our statutory auditors
• Work closely with Tax Teams for the filing of Corporate tax and VAT returns
• Prepare and /or review Tax-related balance sheet reconciliations monthly and quarterly for US GAAP close for assigned APAC entities
• Track and coordinate activities, status and planning for the APAC statutory audits by working closely with the Statutory team
• Support adoption for tools, solutions and frameworks implemented to enhance and improve the Statutory Compliance process
• Collaborate with Technical Accounting Operations and Technical Accounting Teams in consistent implementation of IFRS and other accounting standards in APAC
• Assist in technical accounting memos for significant or complex transactions in collaboration with the technical accounting team

Minimum Qualifications

• Recognized accounting qualification (CA, ACCA)
• 6+ years relevant experience with a fast-growing, multinational company or professional services i.e. Big Four
• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
• Highly collaborative, excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being comfortable with navigating change
• Experience implementing and improving business processes and systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Second language (Mandarin) for work-related responsibilities and international working experience is a plus
