Data Center Engineer

Salt is looking for a DC Engineer for a global technology company for a yearly renewable contract role. In this role we are looking for a self-starter with at least 3-4 years of experience.

You will be working on-site at installing hardware, documenting inventory, post migration testing and additional IT responsibilities. You will be working closely with the Digital Technology Lead on site to assist with deployment tasks to support the Operational Technology Network.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Hardware Installation, Moves, Configuration changes & Support
• Provide hands and feet support for remote service providers and assist other programs.
• Physical Installs of network and computing devices
• Support on-site equipment and hardware connectivity
• Network cable (copper & Fiber) installation, testing, removal
• Server connectivity as instructed by the appropriate Server Team
• Support Network hardware security patching / firmware upgrades / anti-threat, Ant-Virus scanning
• Run virus scans on Factory floor PCs, Embedded systems, HMIs etc using the provided SOP
• Support Network infrastructure Incident/Change Management
• Assist with reading engineering drawings (tooling and hardware)
• Project support of network infrastructure related projects (design, build, deployment/migration) Assists with Network Obsolescence/Refresh cycles
• Support IT/OT integration new and existing factory floor machines including discovery of network connectivity requirements, cabling, network and server configurations, software installation
• Demonstrate an understanding of infrastructure devices to include Switches, Routers and Firewalls
• Be available to travel and work at sites when requested
• Some out of regular business hours remote and on-site attendance needed.
