Construction Project Manager

Our client is looking for a Freelance Retail Project Manager who is experienced in managing end-to-end retail development projects, from initial permitting and design review through construction, fit-out, and store opening. Skilled at coordinating cross-functional teams, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead retail store and mall project lifecycle from feasibility, permits, and approvals through construction and opening.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with brand guidelines, technical requirements, and local regulations.
• Oversee construction progress, schedules, and contractor performance, resolving issues to keep projects on track.
• Manage procurement and vendor coordination for fixtures, equipment, and signage.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure delivery meets safety, aesthetic, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (design, operations, marketing, finance) and external partners (landlords, GC, consultants).
• Prepare project budgets, forecasts, and reports for executive review.
• Ensure smooth handover from construction to retail operations, leading pre-opening activities and final inspections.

Requirements:

• Successfully delivered 1-2 number of retail stores ranging from flagship stores to mall kiosks.
• Reduced project delivery timelines by at least 20% through process optimization and contractor management.
• Managed multi-million-dollar budgets and complex stakeholder relationships across multiple regions.
• The candidate must be in New York, Los Angeles or Minneapolis
