12-Month Contract | Cupertino – Hybrid
Our client, a global leader in technology and innovation, is seeking a Production Design macOS Tools Engineer to support the lead engineer on a large internal tools project. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and resourceful macOS developer with 3-5 years of experience to contribute to impactful, large-scale projects.
In this role, you’ll help implement new features, test existing code, and resolve bugs within a suite of internal extensions that support creative design and production workflows. The work involves extending consumer-facing macOS applications with complex and mature codebases-primarily written in Objective-C-while contributing modern development in Swift and SwiftUI.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled at navigating legacy codebases, ensuring clean interoperability between Objective-C and Swift, and delivering maintainable, high-quality code. You’ll work closely with creative and production teams, ensuring tools meet the needs of fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Implement new features and extensions to enhance internal creative workflows.
· Test and debug new and existing code, delivering quick-turnaround bug fixes when required.
· Work across Objective-C and Swift codebases, ensuring seamless interoperability.
· Collaborate with creative and production teams to align tools with their workflows.
· Contribute clean, maintainable, and scalable code in Swift and SwiftUI.
Key Requirements:
· Extensive macOS development experience with SwiftUI and AppKit.
· Strong knowledge of Swift and Objective-C interoperability.
· Proven experience working with large, complex codebases.
· Proficiency with Keynote, Numbers, and Pages.
· Exceptional debugging skills with an emphasis on high-quality, maintainable code.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical partners.
· Experience in fast-paced production environments, with the flexibility to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
· Strong problem-solving, analytical, and independent troubleshooting skills.
· Experience collaborating on cross-functional projects with diverse teams.
