Role: Staff, Electrical Engineer

Location: Greater Boston, MA

This company is an emerging leader in the development and production of high-tech wearable solutions. They are looking for a self-starter, capable and highly creative engineer with a strong work ethic, to design and develop wearable product solutions that will change the way people live and work.

This role will focus on bringing technical substance and inspiration to their Electrical Engineering team in order to help ensure that imaginative, yet credible, solutions populate our ambitious product roadmap.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of electronics that support wearable products from initial concept through on-going product support
  • Capable of design, layout and modeling of assemblies (PCBAs, Cables, etc.)
  • Develop and assemble non-functional and functional prototypes of systems and sub-systems
  • Analyze product requirements, and plan and estimate development activities
  • Develop clear and concise hardware specifications to meet requirements
  • Develop innovative hardware solutions to satisfy the challenging requirements for wearables products
  • Develop and execute test plans for unit testing; and work closely with the system test team to insure the delivery of high-quality design
  • Interact with team members from other disciplines to complete project deliverables, solve problems and to report status
  • Support fielded products, and perform analysis of field-reported issues

Education & Experience:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role involving the design and development of PCBs
  • Experience in all aspects of electrical design: component selection, system architecture and documentation
  • Experience with mixed-signal design, battery management, sensors, microcontrollers, USB and RF circuits
  • Experience in the development of embedded firmware of microcontrollers, including design, test and debugging is a plus
  • Experience with Altium is a preferred
  • Previous industry experience working for a company or a consultant company in military, medical, wearables or biomedical goods space is highly desirable.
