Are you a sea freight specialist who’s got what it takes to manage complex shipments with cool-headed confidence and razor-sharp attention to detail? We’re looking for an Ocean Freight Controller & Operations Coordinator to join our logistics team handling high-value, time-sensitive perishable goods.

In this role, every container counts, every deadline matters, and your ability to juggle vessel schedules, customer queries, inspections, and shipping docs is what makes you the anchor of the team.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

· Planning and executing sea freight shipments from start to finish

· Handling all documentation – including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, Customs Clearance, Permits, and Shipping Instructions

· Coordinating bookings, vessel tracking, trucking time lines, and delivery schedules

· Communicating with shipping lines, agents, clients, Transnet, unpack depots

· Arranging and overseeing container inspections, loading, and offloading at the Plus0 facility

· Scheduling staff for packing and coordinating container stuffing accuracy

· Ensuring cargo is cleared, insured (when required), invoiced, and documented with zero delays

· Updating clients on progress every step of the way and resolving issues promptly

· Uploading delivery docs, arranging transport, and finalising quality checks

· Managing and maintaining internal data accuracy and client profiles

You’ll Love This Role If You:

· Have experience in sea freight forwarding operations, especially in perishables

· Can multitask between email, WhatsApp, calls, and document scanning with ease

· Are detail-oriented, process-driven, and proactive in avoiding shipment delays

· Aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty – this role is active and on your feet

· Can climb containers, take high-quality photos, and be agile on the warehouse floor

· Thrive in a team, but can own your work with confidence and accountability

What You’ll Need:

· Matric certificate

· Industry-related qualifications a plus!

· Excellent command of English

· Working knowledge of ocean freight legislation and clearing processes

· Ability to manage large volumes of documentation efficiently

· Computer savvy – from emails to e-filing to mobile apps

· A non-smoker with high energy and strong physical agility

This is not your average desk job. If you enjoy a hands-on, dynamic, and fast-paced logistics environment, this opportunity will keep you on your toes and set you up for long-term growth in a business that rewards dedication and skill.
