Junior Financial Manager

About Our Client: Our client, a leader in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Junior Financial Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to their continued growth and commitment to excellence in financial management and process improvement.

Education and Requirements:

• CA(SA)
• Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience
• Over 3 years of experience in manufacturing
• Advanced Excel skills
• 1 – 2 years of supervisory experience
• Experience in Sage Evolution is essential

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management and Work Review:

• Manage and review the work of the debtors and accounting functions
• Provide support to the management accountant, junior accountant, and debtors and creditors clerks
• Review all journals and Fixed Asset registers
• Maintain a weekly schedule of credit applications/overdue customers from CGIC
• Liaise with Sage Evolution Consultants to discuss all raised issues within a timely manner
• Draft and review accounting processes and procedures

Statutory Submissions:

• Review VAT returns
• Prepare and submit Income Tax and Provisional Tax Returns
• Prepare and submit payroll-related taxes (EMP201, EMP501)
• Prepare and submit other statutory reports (Stats SA, BBBEE, DTI)
• Final sign-off on Section 12I

Reporting:

• Prepare management accounts
• Prepare variance commentary
• Ensure complete and accurate payroll processing
• Present a complete and accurate debtors aging report
• Review AFS prepared by auditors for accuracy

Continuous Improvement:

• Implement changes through projects and initiatives within budget, time, and scope
• Develop and execute training and development plans
