Product Owner

My client are a bit of a “jacks of all trade” type of client where they help service clients from entrepreneurs to to get involved in the digi-ecosystem we find ourselves in! They have many-a-divisions such as fintech, telecoms, insurance, and the list goes on.

But they really need someone who is technically strong and can hit the ground running!

Responsibilities:

• Product backlog management
• Capture and prioritise the development team’s user stories to work on in upcoming sprints, coupled with acceptance criteria
• Develop product stories and points of sale for the product
• Determine improvements to product features
• Take product management initiatives, break them down into stories or actionable chunks of value and work with development team to implement
• Contribute to the strategic roadmap through collaboration
• Bridge the gap between the product strategy and development elements
• Share market research and competitive analysis with the team to best focus their efforts
• Learn the market and customer needs
• Knowledge of digital / platform products and the market it serves. i.e., domain expertise

Education and training:
* Degree in a technical field, e.g. Marketing, Computer Science
* Agile certification would be advantageous
* Professional Scrum Product Owner – Advanced certification

Experience:
* At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role with B2B or B2C product management experience
* Experience in ad agency/perfromance marketing related role where you have worked on CRM products and features

They are based in Durban where they work on a hybrid model, however, they are willing to consider golden nuggets in Cape Town where you will be able to work remote.

This role is only available to South African citizens or permanent residents, as they are not offering a work visa.
