Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Cape Town’s Foreshore district. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives on ensuring construction projects are delivered on budget, on time, and to the highest standards. You will play a key role in cost management, procurement, and contract administration while working closely with architects, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.

• Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assist with tender documentation, evaluate bids, and negotiate with contractors and suppliers.

• Maintain detailed cost records, track expenditures, and highlight potential financial risks.

• Draft, review, and manage contracts; handle interim payments and final accounts.

• Assess and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations.

• Support quality assurance by maintaining high standards across cost and contract processes.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar role, preferably in commercial construction.

• Certifications: RICS, SACQSP, or equivalent professional membership (preferred).

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost estimating and project management software (e.g., CostX, Procore, MS Project).

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, standards, and local market practices.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Valid driver’s license (advantageous)
