Job Title: Brand Assistant Location: Atlantis, Western Cape Division/Department: Marketing Reports to: Marketing Manager
Overall Responsibility:
The Brand Assistant will support the marketing team by assisting in market research, campaign management, and digital marketing efforts. This role also involves providing general administrative support to the Marketing Manager and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders. The position is intended for an individual who is adaptable, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to grow within the brand management field.
Key Performance Areas (KPA):
KPA 1: Market Research, Analysis, and Reporting
Analyze brand and market share trends to provide insights.
Gather industry and competitor intelligence.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on research into consumer, shopper, and category trends.
Collect and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns, offering recommendations based on findings.
KPA 2: Campaign Management
Support the development and execution of tactical and Below-the-Line (BTL) marketing initiatives.
Manage the design of in-store Point of Sale (POS) materials, working closely with the Marketing Manager.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and successful campaign execution.
Drive, track, and manage in-store sampling plans and schedules.
Provide both quantitative and qualitative feedback on campaign performance, with actionable recommendations.
Conduct post-campaign analysis and provide insights for future improvements.
KPA 3: Digital Marketing
Oversee milestone deliverables for tactical campaigns across digital platforms.
Review content and copy to ensure alignment with brand positioning and objectives.
Monitor and assess daily digital engagement on various platforms.
Compile digital data, generate insights, and provide recommendations based on performance metrics.
KPA 4: General Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Marketing Manager and marketing team.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support campaign efforts.
Facilitate day-to-day communications with agencies.
Assist in the drafting of the brand plan in alignment with the marketing strategy.
Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns.
Assist in maintaining internal communications and visual office management.
Set up and manage a brand history repository.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
Education in statistics or related analytical disciplines is a must.
Strong skills in reporting, analysis, and interpreting data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Advantageous/Preferred Qualifications:
Postgraduate degree.
1-2 year’s experience in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms.
