Application Specialist: SCM

As an SAP SCM (Supply Chain Management) Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to leverage your expertise in SAP SCM modules to optimise and streamline supply chain operations within the organisation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain SAP SCM solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance across the supply chain.

This will be an on-site role based in Johannesburg for a 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation and configuration of SAP SCM modules, including but not limited to SAP APO (Advanced Planning and Optimisation), SAP MM (Materials Management), SAP PP (Production Planning), and SAP WM (Warehouse Management).

Customise SAP SCM functionalities to meet specific business requirements and optimise supply chain processes.

1. Supply Chain Planning and Optimisation:

Utilise SAP SCM tools and modules to forecast demand, plan procurement, optimise inventory levels, and streamline production schedules.

Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain visibility, reduce lead times, and enhance responsiveness to changing market conditions.

2. Integration and Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, logistics, procurement, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of SAP SCM solutions with existing systems and processes.

Facilitate communication and knowledge-sharing among stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve common supply chain objectives.

3. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to identify areas for improvement within the supply chain.

Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and process optimisation, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices in SAP SCM.

4. Training and Support:

Provide training and support to end-users on SAP SCM functionalities, processes, and best practices.

Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and point of contact for troubleshooting, issue resolution, and system enhancements related to SAP SCM.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must be SAP Certified
• Experience with S/4 Hana an advantage
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in SAP SCM implementation, configuration, and support, with a focus on SAP APO, SAP MM, SAP PP, and SAP WM modules.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including demand planning, inventory management, procurement, and production scheduling.
• Proficiency in SAP SCM tools and technologies, as well as integration with other SAP modules (e.g., SAP ERP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Certification in SAP SCM modules is highly desirable (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate – Supply Chain Planning & Execution with SAP ERP 6.0).
