They are seeking a skilled Cloud & Server Engineer responsible for maintaining a secure, efficient, and resilient IT infrastructure. This role involves designing, deploying, and managing server environments that underpin critical business functions. You will play a key part in disaster recovery planning, server optimisation, and integrating emerging technologies. Collaboration and innovation are highly valued in this dynamic environment.

Additionally, you will enhance security measures by improving vulnerability management processes and implementing effective scanning tools to identify potential risks. Whether performing routine maintenance or managing unexpected outages, you will ensure seamless operation and robust protection of server systems and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Detect and prioritise system vulnerabilities using automated scanning tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive vulnerability remediation
• Support the organisation’s overall security and risk management framework
• Continuously refine security posture, processes, and tools
• Lead coordination efforts with governance, risk, and compliance teams on vulnerability and risk assessments
• Assist and conduct penetration testing internally and externally
• Analyse penetration testing results and work with stakeholders to resolve issues
• Manage and support cloud technology stacks such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
• Basic programming knowledge across platforms including PHP, HTML, Ruby on Rails, and PowerShell
• Manage MySQL and PostgreSQL database environments
• Respond to internal queries related to vulnerability management
• Assist in managing security incidents, alerts, and investigations
• Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and software
• Monitor and troubleshoot server performance issues
• Conduct regular security audits and apply patches and updates
• Develop and enforce server-related policies and procedures
• Collaborate closely with network engineers and IT teams
• Maintain server backups and disaster recovery processes
• Analyse system logs to identify potential risks or failures
• Ensure compliance with software licensing and regulatory requirements
• Document server environment configurations and changes
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and colleagues
• Plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions
• Manage virtualisation technologies and cloud-based server environments
• Perform resource optimisation and capacity planning

Core Skills & Knowledge

• Strong troubleshooting experience with endpoint and server environments
• Experience with automated vulnerability scanning and triage processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High standards for technical quality and willingness to mentor others
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach and ability to work independently
• Comfortable working in fast-paced and evolving environments
• Able to maintain composure and focus under pressure

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a high-pressure production environment
• Familiarity with agent-based security technologies
