SAP Outbound Logistics and Sales Solutions Architect

Overall Job Purpose:

Our client is currently busy with a large strategic business and IT transformation and part of this roadmap includes the implementation of SAP S/4 HANA Private Cloud.

This role is to be the Solutions Lead for the whole of the Outbound Logistics Stream throughout the lifecycle of the program and into the Solution Delivery Function within Group IT.

• Proactively and holistically leads and supports all Outbound Logistics Stream delivery activities that lead to the development and management of a portfolio of Outbound Logistics solutions that replace the current legacy application.
• Provides the necessary leadership, analysis, architectural, integration, and design insights to actively support the development of technology solutions.

Key Accountabilities:

Outbound Logistics and Sales Solutions Lead

Generic:

• Applies architectural guidelines and agreed on principles to solutions
• Leads prepare for, and actively participates in QA and Design Authority (and other bodies e.g., Functional Design Forums, Group Design Council, Steering Committee, and project status) activities as these relate to the portfolio
• Serve as a Liaison (interpretation layer) between the business and the SI project teams
• Ensures a quality design, well-tested and well-deployed solutions for the business
• Identify any issues, and risks, escalate to project management and own mitigating actions
• Validate, socialize and obtain “buy-in” for business processes for the business in a Greenfields SAP S4 HANA implementation
• Identify any business impacts on the project and work with teams (e.g., Change Management, Integration) to manage activities that lead to adoption and positive business outcomes
• Define the archiving requirements for the area of responsibility and integrate these into a holistic archiving approach for the legacy solution and SAP solution
• Understand end-to-end processes and identify gaps between standard SAP and critical business processes and integration requirements between SAP and existing 3rd parties that need to be met to sustain the business – technical and functional

System processes

• Design technical solutions with SI partner to satisfy business system requirements that support business processes
• Identify tasks and implement processes to comply with internal and external audit requirements e.g., system access (&controls), data management, and solution change management.
• Identify any 3rd party (aligned processes and applications that currently integrate to legacy business solution) requirements to run the to-be processes and facilitate the technical design and integration for the 3rd party into the SAP S/4 Core Business solution, own related 3rd party interactions
• Identify Reporting requirements and specifications and ensure that SAP meets the requirements of key stakeholders as for as reporting is concerned
• Ensure the data extracts from Legacy systems, meet the requirements of the templates used in enriching data for the load process, in conjunction with the Data Lead
• Ensure data in the load templates are complete (working with business Data Lead and Data Stewards) and that reports are in place to validate migrated data with business leads (coach and train business leads to understand reports and perform efficient sign-off during the project life-cycle)
• Work with Authorisations, Fiori, Functional, and Change Teams to define map, and validate (Authorisation) roles for processes
• Sign off project (and support process after service introduction) solution documents e.g., blueprint design, functional and technical design specifications, test plans, test scripts, training material, cut-over plans, etc., by SI partner
• Ensure Integration and UAT Test scenarios for solution are complete, testing is complete, and defects are addressed.
• Ensure Training material is of adequate quality, training provided is sufficient, and provide training and coaching when and where required
• Ensure the Business Cut-over plan is complete and tested before the actual Cut-over
• Define Business continuity plan in conjunction with Business Lead and Group Functional Leads and Country Functional Leads.
• Participate in defining support processes and implement these with the AMS SI.

Change management

• Support Business Functional Leads and Project Change Management Team with Change Management activities, as required
• Give input to impact assessments for system changes and replacement of solutions and own assigned activities to address these
• Ensure business leads are equipped with relevant information and knowledge (coach and train) to support business readiness and manage execution for go-live activities
• Apply design principles – SAP standard first
• Give input to role definition and mapping to business leads

Quality Management

• Execute and own Unit and Integration testing of the system
• Validate testing results from SI partner
• Provide test data for Integration scripts
• Give input to audit controls for system migration and go-live

Qualification:

• IT Diploma or degree
• Minimum 10 years of SAP Outbound Logistics implementations or other relevant Solutions and Support
• Experience in SD, WMS, and TMS implementations
• Knowledge and experience with using SAP Solman
• Understanding of project development lifecycle and SAP Activate methodology
• Testing of a fully integrated solution in an SAP project
