About the Role

As a leader of leaders, you’ll uplift the team and drive the design direction of the company’s online experiences. You will collaborate with a broader group of senior leaders to drive strategic change, people engagement and positive cultural influence.

You’ll join a strong, talented team with great ideas. This mature design team are in an exciting time of change, innovation and growth, as they transform the visual experience and bring all customers onto the same platform, with a common code.

Through this role you will inspire and enable design capability with a focus on creating a shared vision. You’ll be able to talk to past successes from a people and practice perspective, and how you have built design presence in other organisations. You’ll have examples of initiatives you have led, to ensure you have brought out the best out of your team members.

Role Responsibilities

• Establish a design leadership capability that has a strong voice and presence throughout the company, along with strong views on the direction of design, resulting in bold and ambitious user experiences
• Uplift & re-think the visual experience to ensure it goes a cut above the competitors
• Work with the design leadership team to set a clear vision and roadmap for the design direction
• Bring the design vision to life through portfolio initiatives and design programs
• Ensure that ways of working are established to enable high performance, leveraging design ops practices and clear roles & responsibilities for design team members
• Ensure that the design system enables rapid development of design prototypes and user experiences
• Ensure that ways of working support both global and local working models

Your Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a role leading a large team of UX/UI designers, design managers and design technical experts
• Highly analytical with a creative problem solving approach
• Expert in leading the design and delivery of user experiences and familiar with Android, iOS and responsive web platforms.
• Good understanding of design systems
• Experience and proven knowledge in design thinking and agile approaches
• Proven success in leading and managing large design teams, large programs of work and/or managing organisations through change
