Working arrangements can by hybrid or fully remote, although Melbourne is the preferred location.

The Role:

This is a rare opportunity to establish a research practice from the ground up. As part of a new and growing team, you’ll be positively changing the education landscape across the world.

As the practice lead, you’ll manage multiple research initiatives and put in place best-practice research ops.

This varied role will see you utilising your existing qual and quant skills to establish and evolve the UX research capability in a successful scale-up organisation.

You’ll be a natural leader, with excellent communication skills, with the drive to build research capability across the company.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Run the research practice, manage briefs and resource plan research across the design team
  • Use quantitative and qualitative research methods to drive product direction and implementation
  • Lead and conduct field research (e.g. ethnography, focus groups, interviews, observation)
  • Lead and conduct lab and remote research (e.g. usability testing, co-design sessions), quantitative research (e.g. concept/prototype testing, surveys, metrics), and behavioural analytics
  • Run Lean Startup experiments to quickly validate ideas, propositions or features.
  • Democratise research by building capability across the organisation for everyone to get involved in listening and working with customers

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Experience conducting mixed methods research, quantitative and qualitative research
  • Experience conducting research within the digital/mobile product space
  • Confident creating and executing research plans for interviews, surveys, ethnographic research, usability tests, competitive landscapes, secondary research
  • Ability to synthesise data to extract actionable insights
  • Experience presenting complex ideas in a compelling and actionable way
  • Ability to creatively target and recruit participants
  • Ability to recognize patterns, disentangle confounding variables, and synthesize information
  • Experience within a SaaS environment highly desirable
