About the Role:

The UX Engineering capability is focused on building exceptional digital products and experiences for its students and staff using cutting edge technology.

We are looking for an experienced and multi-skilled CX Researcher who is passionate about transforming the student experience.

You’ll be responsible for supporting the entire user experience development lifecycle of a product, service, or procedure, with a focus on the relationships and interactions between customers and business, not just the student academic experience but other aspects of university life.

You’ll join on an initial 12 month contract, which is likely to extend.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Define problem statements and gather business requirements based on customer needs
  • Undertake targeted and customer-focused research, testing, and product validation to confirm ideas and assumptions with end-users and business stakeholders
  • Present research and discovery findings to various stakeholders and the wider community, suitable for consumption by senior executives
  • Work with users to test and validate final products, observe user behaviour, and generate ideas for further improvements to the product
  • Liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders to define vision and requirements to deliver an end-state vision that aligns to business and customer objectives
  • Mentor, support, and provide guidance to junior team members to uplift design and technological knowledge and capability across the university

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree, preferably in customer research or other relevant discipline and extensive relevant experience
  • Experience in developing and presenting insights into customer journeys and customer/business relationships.
  • Knowledge of core discovery and user testing frameworks and tools.
  • Strong qualitative research skill set, including customer journey mapping, needs-based modelling, user experience & concept testing, and human-centered design.
  • Ability to independently lead full-service qualitative research projects from briefing to presentation of insights.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, and plan work to meet deadlines independently.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to support and advise clients and stakeholders throughout all stages of producing a digital solution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and exercise high levels of judgement and initiative.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and convey complex information.
