You will report into the Head of Brand & Marketing and is responsible for ongoing development and refinement of the personalisation and lifecycle strategy leveraging email, SMS and other targeted digital channels as well as overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of our clients marketing technology platform.

You will be responsible for delivering our marketing automation roadmap, working with key stakeholders across the organisation to help and manage integrated lifecycle journeys to achieve strategic business objectives, and to reach and engage our community in a more targeted and relevant manner. This role will take an enterprise view and leverage data and insights to drive decision making.

The Marketing Automation team executes end-to-end marketing automation campaigns, including journey design and visualisation, implementation, asset build, test/quality assurance, ongoing management, and reporting. The Marketing Automation Lead will play an integral role to manage and develop a highly trained, motivated, and efficient team.

  • Lead the development of our marketing automation technology roadmap to enable strategy realisation and drive alignment with internal and external partners
  • Identify and deliver initiatives across people, systems, and processes to improve how they integrate and leverage community data to support our work.
  • Develop and implement effective and efficient personalisation and automation initiatives.
  • Identify process overlap as well as upstream and downstream opportunities to consolidate and improve processes across the entire customer lifecycle.
  • Engage with business partners to identify needs and implement marketing automation activities that support strategic objectives.
  • Lead business analysis for our marketing technology stack: oversee the gathering and documenting of business requirements, manage design, testing and implementation of new projects.
  • Establish effective measurement and reporting frameworks to monitor performance of marketing automation activities and identify opportunities to optimise and enhance performance.
  • Champion the role and importance of marketing automation and personalisation through the organisation to drive greater awareness and understanding of its role and value

Education/qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, digital, IT or similar field or other relevant discipline.

Knowledge/skills/experience

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.

Marketing automation expertise

  • Advanced skills and extensive experience with CRM and Salesforce, Marketing Cloud (or others)
  • Demonstrated experience in personalisation and lifecycle strategy across the customer journey including acquisition, engagement and retention automation
  • Sound understanding of digital product delivery (in the marTech space), digital analytics and campaign reporting, principles and methods for using digital channels to promote messaging that informs and leads to behaviour change.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for the collection, tracking, measurement, and analysis of data and processes used to make actionable decisions and recommendations.
  • Ability to think strategically to improve the user journey and customer experience so we can expand our reach and better serve the community.
  • Experience working with community data, knowledge of data architecture/models & safe handling of data

Leadership and teamwork

  • Ability to implement the marketing automation roadmap with a broad range of stakeholders and work across the organisation to meet shared objectives.
  • Highly developed skills and experience in leading teams and developing, motivating and managing people, including clarifying expectations, managing performance, coaching and fostering accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, engagement, and negotiation skills.
