About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to be the “Seller Success Manager” (aka Business Development Manager) for a new digital eCommerce marketplace which is ready to transform B2B trading for independent retailers in Australia. Bring on board new customers, sign them up and get them started. You will report into the Customer Success Lead and be part of an agile, digital first, customer-obsessed team standing up this new digital business. This is predominantly a phone-based role with the potential to really make huge career strides and love your job.

What does the position entail?

  • Target future top clients through cold-calling and effectively manage your pipeline
  • Recruit clients quickly and efficiently by leveraging a mastered sales pitch
  • Successfully onboard new clients and follow up with them throughout their onboarding journey
  • Train clients in the back-office, functional tools and to quality criteria
  • Develop the client’s account until it is fully developed and self-sufficient

Qualities you have:

  • Excellent BD skills and phone manner
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Customer-centric
  • Familiar with leading, best-practice eCommerce solutions and tech platform business models
  • Familiar with agile development processes

Your experience:

  • 3+ years of business development experience
  • Significant experience selling to & onboarding customers, preferably in a B2B digital marketplace context
  • Experience working day-to-day with a diverse range of roles such as suppliers, distributors, retailers in retail preferrable
  • Experience with eCommerce and marketplace solutions would be amazing
  • Experience in digital solution development in a start-up context is a plus
