They are excited about their future and have an opportunity for a National Sales & Key Account Manager to lead their Australian team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager in Auckland, you will be looking after the Australian territory. Managing a team of 14 direct reports nationally you will drive sales and revenue while being the point of call for large key accounts like Bunnings, Mitre10 (IHG network), and Harvey Norman along with a good mix of several SME accounts to keep things interesting.

This is a wonderful national responsibility with several established relationships, plus plenty of scope and opportunity to build on its success. The role will be a combination of on the road alongside time in the Dandenong South office.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage the national sales team to generate profitable sales and develop growth opportunities
  • Be the sounding board for your team, including coaching, mentoring, and leading direct reports
  • Plan and manage company sales activities ensuring a successful outcome.
  • Manage existing relationships with designated key retailers and customers
  • Provide leadership and development of the Territory Managers to achieve sales targets/ forecasts/ planning
    Managing effective and positive leadership to enhance the customer culture in the industry

What you’ll need to bring:

  • Sales management experience in outdoor garden products or tools, lifestyle products, and/or similar industries
  • Track record of running a successful sales team and delivering on targets
  • Strong negotiation skills and sound relationship-building skills
  • Experience in retail and wholesale product and sales training
  • Experience managing a team of 10+ within a similar industry
  • An experienced leader in coaching and mentoring staff and not afraid to get your hands dirty, muck in with a can-do approach and attitude
  • Love of BBQs and culinary creations, power garden equipment, sweet-looking lawns, and gardens… this is a bonus!
