Senior Estimator – RAIL Maintenance & Operations

A Tier One rail construction client is seeking a urgent contractor Estimator (Maintenance & Operations) to join their team for a prestigious large-scale Rail project. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with strong estimating/quantity surveyor experience and a proven track record in managing complex projects in the Rail sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the estimating phase for a major Rail Maintenance & Operations NSW Sydney Metro project, ensuring accurate and timely cost forecasts.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to develop detailed project budgets and resource plans.
• Analyse and interpret project documentation, scope, and specifications to provide cost-effective solutions.
• Oversee and manage all aspects of project estimation, including risk assessments, value engineering, and cost control.
• Provide detailed reporting and recommendations to senior management for project progress and budget adherence.
• Ensure all project activities align with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

What we are looking for:

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in project management and estimating, particularly in large-scale infrastructure or rail projects.
• Must have strong Estimation experience with RAIL MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS PACKAGES
• Proven track record of successful estimation for multi-million-dollar projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and risk management.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and estimating tools.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry certifications.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
