Cyber Security Operations Manager

We are seeking a dynamic Cyber Security Operations Manager to lead, develop, and execute the vision for our cybersecurity operations. This role is pivotal in overseeing our Security Operations Centre (SOC) team and managing relationships with third-party service providers to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our global services.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Shape and drive the strategic vision for cybersecurity operations, informed by cutting-edge threat intelligence, industry best practices, and future-proofing initiatives. Continuously improve and evolve our security measures to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • SOC Management: Lead and manage the internal SOC team and third-party providers, ensuring effective identification, advanced threat detection, analysis, and resolution of cyber threats. Foster collaboration with other IT and business teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Incident Response: Spearhead security incident response initiatives, including threat hunting, incident management, and recovery processes, leveraging incident response automation to ensure that our response mechanisms are agile and robust.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential threats. Stay ahead of evolving risk landscapes and ensure the organization’s security posture remains strong.
  • Toolset Ownership: Act as the Application Owner for shared security tools and applications, continuously monitoring and reporting on the performance and effectiveness of these services.
  • Thought Leadership: Serve as a leader in the cybersecurity field, offering thought leadership and driving operational excellence through a blend of technical expertise, financial insight, and business strategy. Contribute to future-proofing initiatives and promote best practices across the industry.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee third-party SOC providers, ensuring accountability and alignment with our cybersecurity goals. Enhance external threat intelligence partnerships to strengthen our security posture.
  • Agile Leadership: Employ Agile methodologies to lead and inspire your team, driving innovation, efficiency, and strategic thinking in our cybersecurity operations.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive Experience: Proven track record in managing large-scale IT security operations, with a deep understanding of the current threat landscape, advanced threat detection, risk assessment, and cybersecurity technologies (e.g., Threat Management, Vulnerability Management).
  • Technical background: You will come from a strong hands-on technical background in Cyber Security, with a focus in Security Operations. This background, blended into your current leadership role, influences your decision making and thought process.
  • Leadership & Management: Strong leadership and management capabilities with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization. Experience in communicating complex cybersecurity concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Risk Management & Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to assess and mitigate risks while managing stakeholder expectations and promoting cross-functional collaboration.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external teams.
  • People Management: Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams, with a focus on fostering teamwork, collaboration, and aligning with strategic business goals.
  • Problem Solving & Strategic Thinking: Adept at prioritizing tasks, strategic thinking, and delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment, while driving future-proofing efforts and industry-leading practices.
