Data Governance Advisor

Reporting to the Cyber Security and Data Governance Manager, this role will be responsible for the implementation of the data governance framework and improving culture and awareness across the organisation. You will work closely with the Technology team, Legal, business stakeholders, and vendors to improve maturity in data governance.

Role accountabilities:

• Working with stakeholders to drive the implementation of the data governance framework in a timely manner and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Advising and consulting on enterprise-wide data governance, protection of organisation information
• Advising and contributing to data governance, data architecture standards and data quality standards
• Keeping abreast of innovation and legislative changes
• Promoting and ensuring ongoing data governance awareness is engrained in all business activities.
• Continuous uplifting of data governance awareness of people in the organisation
• Ensuring risk is appropriately assessed, managed, and monitored.

Key skills you’ll bring:

• 3-5 years’ experience in a data governance, data architecture or related data projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented and have an analytical mindset.
• Excellent analytical, planning, organisational and technical skills
• A solid grasp of core data governance and information management fundamentals and concepts, including DAMA-DMBOK
• Ability to communicate complex information to non-experts.
• An understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments
• Understanding and knowledge of IT standards and controls.
