Security Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Security Engineer who can create security software solutions to protect clients and suggest appropriate recommendations and improvements. This is a unique opportunity to utilise your IT security skills working alongside enterprise clients in a supportive and professional environment.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze security systems and seek improvements on a continuous basis
• Create and monitor alerts to limit false positives
• Report possible threats or software issues
• Research weaknesses and find ways to counter them
• Find cost-effective solutions to cybersecurity problems
• Understand software, hardware and internet needs while adjusting them according to our business environment
• Develop best practices and security standards for the organization
• Assist fellow employees with cybersecurity, software, hardware, or IT needs
• Collaborate with Client-facing departments to ensure creation of secure software and communication methods for our delivered services
• Implement security tools, develop user training material, and conduct security awareness training throughout the organization
• Provide hands-on expertise in responding to security incidents, implementing tools and monitoring threats

Skills Required:

• Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
• Hands on experience on Trend Micro Antivirus solution including EDR products like Crowd Strike, Carbon Black etc. for a large environment
• Knowledge of network security zones, Firewall configurations, IDS policies
• Knowledge of systems communications from Layer 1 to 7
• Experience with Systems Administration, Middleware, and Application Administration
• Experience with Network and Network Security tools administration
• Knowledge of log formats and ability to aggregate and parse log data for syslog, http logs, DB logs for investigation purposes
• In-depth experience with log search tools such as Splunk, usage of regular expressions and natural language queries
• In-depth knowledge of packet capture and analysis
• In-depth knowledge of forensics tools such as FTK and Encase
• Experience with Security Assessment tools (NMAP, Nessus, Metasploit, Netcat)
• Competent knowledge of risk management and threat intelligence analysis
• Excellent attention to detail and follow through
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal communications skills and ability to deal effectively with business partners, peers, and management
• Expert ability with scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell
