Solution Architect – Research | Data | AI

Role Overview:

As a pivotal member of the Architecture & Solutions team, the Solution Architect will develop comprehensive solutions from initial concept to detailed design. This role emphasizes leading, prioritizing, and crafting detailed designs for Research, Data, AI, and related initiatives, working closely with IT Services and both business and IT leaders.

The Solution Architect will employ a pragmatic, modern, and integrated approach to engage with stakeholders across the organization, ensuring the architecture of Research, Data, AI, and associated projects adhere to standards and governance. This role also ensures that solutions are implemented as designed and actively participates in the Architecture Working Group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contributing to the creation of Research, Data, AI strategies, and three-year roadmaps.
• Supporting the Enterprise Architecture Team in maintaining Research, AI, and Data artifacts in the Enterprise Architecture repository (Essential Cloud), including:
  • Data Minimization
  • Data Quality
  • Data Scanning
  • Contractor Management Systems
  • Research Platforms
  • AI Platforms

• Providing thought leadership within the Architecture and Solutions Team.
• Developing Research, Data, and AI Architecture Guardrails and Patterns.
• Designing solutions across Data, Analytics & AI, Research, and various Enterprise Applications such as Data Minimization, Sensitive Data Scanning, Contractor Management Systems, Research Platforms, and Data Quality solutions.
• Gathering requirements for Research and Data designs to be developed by the Solution Architect or other team members.
• Creating conceptual architectures for Research and Data.
• Developing detailed designs and related artifacts for Research and Data.
• Reviewing and providing feedback on Research and Data designs developed by other team members, covering areas like Cloud, Integration, Applications, Infrastructure, Networks, and End User Computing.
• Participating in Architecture Forums, including the Architecture Working Group.
• Assisting projects in developing Concept Briefs and other project planning documents.
• Offering oversight and advice during the implementation of various solution designs.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Over five years of experience in Data and Research.
• More than three years of experience in Research, Data, Analytics, and AI design.
• Extensive knowledge of AI, Research, Data, and Analytics strategies, frameworks, processes, and solutions.
• Highly collaborative and supportive of business ideas and strategies, with a proven track record of working effectively with various stakeholders.
• Exposure to multiple, diverse AI, Data, Analytics, and Research platforms and environments.
• A practical, principle-based approach to decision making and problem solving.
• Familiarity with data privacy laws and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of current and emerging AI technologies.
• Ability to work at varying levels of detail, from high-level component/logical architecture to low-level detailed design.
