Senior Quality Engineer

I am working with a huge technology company here in the UAE who are looking to add a Senior Quality Engineer to their team on an initial 6-month contract.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving quality assurance and championing best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. Your expertise in testing methodologies and your leadership skills will be essential in ensuring the delivery of robust, reliable, and user-centric software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide a team of quality engineers in planning, executing, and reporting on software testing activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and user expectations.
• Design comprehensive test strategies and test plans for complex software projects.
• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, and automated tests to validate software functionality.
• Identify and document defects and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover hidden issues and edge cases.
• Participate in design and code reviews to advocate for quality and testability.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior quality engineers.
• Continuously enhance testing processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Technical Skills:

• Working knowledge of SQL Database and SQL Queries and or other relational databases
• Experience with one or more of JavaScript, VBScript, CSS
• Experience with Issue tracking software and with testing database-driven web application
• Very good understanding and practical experience using MS Team Foundation Server, Test Automation experience is a strong plus
• Knowledge in Software development life cycle using both Waterfall and SCRUM, working experience in DevOps environments a strong plus
• Clear concise writing skills based on a clear understanding of target users.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and consistency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or Senior Quality Engineer.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
• Proficiency in manual and automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Experience with performance testing, load testing, and security testing.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership abilities with the capacity to guide and mentor team members.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
