Data Architect- Azure

My client are a leading IT consultancy firm that partners with clients to solve complex business challenges through technology. Their mission is to drive innovation and data-driven decision-making. Currently seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect to join our growing Data & AI practice and help design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions on Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement end-to-end Azure data architectures for enterprise clients.
• Lead client engagements to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Architect modern data platforms using Azure services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure SQL.
• Define data governance, data quality, security, and compliance standards within Azure environments.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and cloud engineers to ensure solutions are aligned and scalable.
• Optimize data flows and pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
• Stay updated with the latest Azure features and recommend improvements for client environments.
• Support proposal development, client presentations, and technical mentoring within the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, with 3+ years focused on Azure.
• Strong expertise in Azure services: Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, SQL Database, Purview, Cosmos DB, etc.
• Experience with modern data architecture patterns including data lakes, lakehouses, and medallion architecture.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep) and CI/CD in data engineering projects.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Spark.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in consultancy or client-facing environments.
• Familiarity with industry verticals like finance, healthcare, or retail.
• Exposure to Power BI or other BI tools.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
