One of our longstanding clients, a leading global technology consultancy recognized for delivering enterprise-scale digital transformation and engineering solutions, are looking for a Senior or Lead Systems Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract, supporting a large enterprise client.

This is a hands-on role for someone who specializes in Managed File Transfer (MFT) systems, with production-level experience configuring and maintaining CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway platforms. You’ll play a key role in designing, optimizing, and supporting secure, high-performance file transmission solutions that enable seamless, reliable data exchange across complex enterprise environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design and implement enterprise-grade MFT solutions using CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway.
  • Develop automation routines using shell scripting and Perl to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes.
  • Configure and optimize Connect:Direct and file agent scripts for high-volume data transfers.
  • Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues and ensure seamless integration across systems.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for secure file transmission.
  • Provide advanced production support for MFT systems, including on-call and scheduled maintenance participation.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of Unix/Linux application support with strong skills in Bash/Korn Shell and Perl programming.
  • 5+ years of experience troubleshooting TCP/IP and optimizing MFT workflows in complex networked environments.
  • Hands-on production experience configuring and maintaining CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway platforms (must-have).
  • Proven expertise with IBM Sterling Connect:Direct and enterprise file transfer protocols (SFTP/SSH, FTPS/SSL, HTTPS, PGP/GPG).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud storage solutions (nice to have).

  • Location: 100% Remote (North America, EST hours preferred)
  • Work Authorization: Open to North American candidates; no visa sponsorship.
