Position: Group Financial Accountant
About the Company:
A rapidly growing Global Insurtech Business is in search of a talented Chartered Accountant (CA, SA) to join their finance team. Operating in five countries, the company is at the forefront of delivering innovative insurance solutions.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Newly qualified CA(SA) with 1-3 years post-article experience
- Insurance/financial services audit client experience is beneficial
- Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and technology
Responsibilities:
As the Group Financial Accountant, the selected candidate will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and play a pivotal role in:
Accounting:
- Ensuring meticulous recording of entries, aligning with accounting standards
- Implementing financial systems and best practices continuously
- Collaborating on annual budgeting, financial statement preparation, and tax structuring
- Managing relationships with in-country accounting firms across the group
- Preparing monthly and annual group consolidations
Reporting:
- Ensuring compliance with financial and insurance regulatory requirements
- Supporting the CFO on regulatory and tax reporting
- Responding to financial inquiries through data analysis and interpretation
- Monthly reporting to white-label and distribution partners
- Reporting on insurance KPIs, including loss ratios, acquisition costs, retention rates, and customer sales
- Monthly management reporting and preparing presentations for the Board and Shareholders
- Providing detailed explanations on reconciled items, specifically related to insurance policy administration, banking, and accounting systems
Experience & Skills:
- Newly qualified CA(SA) with 1-3 years post-article experience
- Insurance/financial services audit client experience is beneficial
- Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and technology
Working Hours:
- Flexible working hours: 8 am to 5 pm or 9 am to 6 pm (Mon-Fri)
