Online Teacher

My company is an exciting new start-up in the online education space. They are a fast-growing, global, private online high school, offering a curriculum recognized by the world’s leading universities. The company is growing rapidly, and as such, are recruiting teachers for all the following subjects: Mathematics, Junior Science, ICT, Art/ Design & Afrikaans. This position is fully remote.

The role:

• Facilitating the live online teaching of the above-mentioned subjects to Junior High and IGCSE classes and associated tasks.
• Motivating students to do their best.
• Monitoring, remediating and enabling student academic progress.
• Grading student submissions.
• Liaising with student mentors.
• Coordinating and running student discussion forums pertaining to the classes.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree as well as a PGCE, BEd or other accepted teaching qualification (SACE number).
• Experience teaching the UK curriculum will be an advantage.
• Work to and meet deadlines.
• Competent at admin tasks associated with the position.
• Comfortable and experienced with using technology.
• Ability to work in an agile environment where innovation, change and adaption are part of the everyday.
